Waking up in the loft bedroom and looking out the windows was like being in a tree house. Beautiful wooded surroundings! The beds are good for those who like firm mattresses. The dirt/rock private drive is tricky to navigate, but we made it!
There was a little hiccup with the charges at the beginning of the process, but the management company made it right and honored the original price.Anonymous from Macon - Posted: 7/29/2024

I stayed in Boggs Mountain Lodge over new years with some friends, and we had a great experience. The cabin was beautiful with plenty of natural sunlight. The hot tub was big and close to the house. The location was a few minutes from Tallulah falls and grocery stores to stock up!
The 1 minor concern, which some people have mentioned is the dirty road and driveway to get to the house. We drove 2 small hybrid hatchbacks and were able to make it just fine - but if there was any rain prior or during our stay, I think it might have been an issue.Anonymous from Atlanta - Posted: 1/2/2024
Fantastic stay. House is very clean, plenty of room, and extremely quiet up on the mountain. We will definitely book another stay there.Anonymous from Thomson - Posted: 9/6/2023
Wonderful to hear your feedback. So glad you enjoyed it!Georgia Mountain Rentals staff
me and my kids have gone here every year for about three or four years now. we love the rabun county area because there’s a lot of hidden gems north of helen that aren’t very convenient to find if you don’t go a little farther north into the mountains. we love the cabin, but we adore the german shepard! if you show up and find cash at the end of the driveway, just be his friend… he wants to be yours. we call him our vacation dog. he even has tricks.. he can sit and shake!J.T. The location is great. The cabin has lots of windows that I loved with character. The a/c works great and the hot tub was hot upon arrival. Did everything go perfect no but mostly everything was a 10! Please be careful as the neighbors dog is lonely and hangs out on the street eager for company. He will dart in front of car. He is friendly.Anonymous from Fleming Island - Posted: 7/12/2023

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The cabin was quiet, clean, homey and beautiful. Lots of space for 5 adults; loved the open floor plan, skylights and windows in the living area. The hot tub was great. We did miss having a dishwasher; the downstairs bedroom could use an overhead light; it was dark and hard to see, especially at night. Also the water pressure in the shower could be stronger. Apart from that we loved the place.Anonymous from Marion - Posted: 12/31/2022
Thanks for sharing your experience! And thanks too for the suggestions. I have forwarded those to the owner for their consideration.Georgia Mountain Rentals staff
Spacious, nice finishes, with 3 bedroom/2 baths. Wifi is great but TV is dated and since no cable and only TV Stream, it does not work very well if at all. Also, they need an updated coffee maker that uses pods vs. the antiquated filter type they currently have in the cabin. Close to Clayton and easy travel to Highlands and other sites. We had a lot of rain and the gravel road to/from paved road is steep and had a washed out area we could maneuver around but it definitely needs work. Also, as leave the asphalt drive there is about a 6 inch drop off that has washed out as well. In summary, nice place it could use TLC on the roadway!!Anonymous from Naples - Posted: 9/24/2022

We were a party of 5 adults and we stayed for 2 nights / 3 days. The place is great, the cabin is very private and well equipped. It has everything you would expect. The decor is very nice. We also got to meet the friendliest German Shepard that just wants to play fetch. The only issue at all is you will need an suv or truck to get here if it is wet outside. I drove a 2 wheel drive Yukon and had zero issues, but I do not believe a car would do so well. The hot tub is huge and very relaxing. We look forward to staying here again.Anonymous from Mcdonough - Posted: 8/2/2022

Our family had an excellent week long vacation at Bogg Mountain Lodge in Clayton, GA. Georgia Mountain Rentals made every step of our trip a seamless one and were available to answer every question we had. Our son spent the week at a nearby summer camp and the rest of pur family enjoyed the north Georgia mountains while he was there. We never ran out of things to do within an hour drive of the cabin. The cabin was beautiful, spacious, clean and well stocked when we arrived. A few comments on the cabin--it was beautiful and secluded, tucked away in the woods but without a view. The gravel road leading up to the driveway was very worn and eroded presumably from the rain. The driveway is steep and has a small ditch where the pavement and gravel road meet. A car would not easily make the drive and would bottom out in areas. An suv would be preferrable. The eroded areas of road were a foot or two deep in areas and could easily damage a wheel or axle if misjudged. We were thankful it didn't rain while there as we guessed it could have been worse. Lastly, we were surprised when our car was approached by a strange dog that followed us up the driveway. We arrived late at night and first thought it could have been a coyote. But then he greeted us at our car door with a stick wanting to play. The dog (a german shepherd x cattle dog cross) turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. He greeted us every day with sticks demanding we play catch with him. He was very friendly and we quickly realized he belonged to the trailer two doors down. The rental agency and cleaning service knew about his visits although we weren't made aware of them ahead of time. We are a dog loving family so we were fine with this but I know not all families are. There were days he hung around on the porch all day staring at us through the windows. A second dog, an old white hound mix that ventured up twice but kept to himself. Overall I can't say enough great things about our stAnonymous from Fort Myers - Posted: 6/25/2022

My husband and I brought our two young sons for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. The cabin was lovely, close to many sites that we wanted to see. We truly enjoyed our time and may book again in the future!Anonymous from Fort Myers - Posted: 3/25/2022

Our cabin was very beautiful and clean. We enjoyed our weekend getaway and loved being able to unplug and reconnect as a family. Our only concern was that the water had a terrible smell. We actually bought water to cooking and brushing our teeth bc it was so bad. The rental company was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We can’t wait to come back!Anonymous from Lake View - Posted: 12/21/2021
Let me start with everything was perfect. There was literally nothing wrong with our cabin. Very clean, spacious, secluded, it had everything we needed for our long stay. The only thing that I would tell any other guest is to be careful with the roads leading up to the cabin because they can be scary. I would definitely recommend this to someone else and of course we will be coming back in the future.Anonymous from Tampa - Posted: 10/17/2021
Nice property overall and wonderful care from Georgia mountain rentals, especially Hal! Main complaint is that kitchen was poorly stocked(no potholders, one small frying pan, chipped coffee mugs). I would also recommend the owners supply a flashlight and some candles as the power went out for a couple of hours and it was pitch dark out there in the woods!Anonymous from Knoxville - Posted: 9/21/2021
We had an incredible stay at Bogg's Mountain. It is not only beautiful, clean, and very secluded, but it's also close to everything, wineries, downtown Clayton, Lake Rabun, state parks, trails. The hot tub is HUGE. I will say, definitely follow their driving directions after you turn off the main road. Google maps leads you to what looks like it used to be a road but is no longer used/overgrown, so definitely use their driving instructions when you're riding up for the first time!Anonymous from Atlanta - Posted: 9/14/2021
We rented here the 2nd week of July. If I have any criticisms it's the the water pressure was weak and we could have used instructions for the TV. Those are tiny, insignificant complaints. The cabin was as advertised, large, spacious, beautiful, clean. The location was secluded and sooo quiet and relaxing. The natural light during the day was amazing. Hot tub was wonderful and it was great to be able to relax in it in such a woodland environment. The management company was excellent and very responsive to the few small questions we had. A previous review mentioned bad smelling water. No longer true as they've obviously installed a system to treat it and the water was fine.
If your idea of rough roads is the speed bump in the Target parking lot, you'll find the road up a little adventurous, but if you've ever driven a dirt road you'll be fine. In fact the drive in is really beautiful and downtown Clayton is only about a 10 to 15 minute drive. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to just get away from it all. We had no plans, hardly did anything other than chill out in the cabin and it was wonderfulAnonymous from Palm City - Posted: 7/19/2021
I took my family of five to Bogg's for a Georgia cabin getaway. We enjoyed the cabin very much. Hot tub was great. Location was great and super quiet. It's just a four minute drive into Clayton which has everything you need. Unfortunately the internet didn't work for us during our stay but I trust they have it fixed. As many of the reviews have stated they could bulk up the kitchen a bit with standard essentials that make life convenient for guests (salt, pepper, sugar, foil, can opener, more pots and pans, etc.). In any event, I thought it was a fair price and I would recommend it to you. Safe Travels!Anonymous from Winter Springs - Posted: 6/25/2021
Beautiful, spacious and peaceful. The cabin and surroundings were just perfect. The drive to it, however, was not. The "private drive" to the cabin was dirt, with very few rocks, huge deep ruts that were tricky to drive around. There was a lot of rain on the day we came in, but this road was probably in poor condition before the rain made it worse. We have an SUV which made it through the ruts at a very slow speed, but I wondered whether we would be able to drive out again after another rain. I would not recommend a car to get to this cabin. The drive way up to the cabin is paved and very easily driven.
Other than the "private drive" dirt road, I would recommend this cabin as a lovely getaway.Anonymous from Macon - Posted: 4/4/2021
Nerve racking to get there , but was very secluded, best hot tub we've ever experienced. Love the upgrades of new furniture and if there were more pillows bed would not be as firm. A pad would help but we like firm. Now the most odd thing every one of the previous reviews say is water pressure, what about the sulfur smell. Made 4 days very stinky Just saying over all great experience and I had many with this company and others. Will continue, but unfortunately not boggs.Anonymous from Dawsonville - Posted: 3/16/2021
The cabin was very clean, relaxing, and secluded.Anonymous from Cumming - Posted: 3/3/2021
We stayed at Boggs Mountain for 9 days. It checked all the boxes we were looking for: secluded, hot tub, firepit, indoor fire option, lots of space. Originally I was concerned due to the lack of blinds/coverings on the windows, but when we arrived I could understand why they were not covered. The windows and skylights make you feel like you are immersed in the woods, all while enjoying to warmth of inside!
The cabin had some cleaning issues, which Georgia Mountain Rentals promptly fixed. The grill had enough rust damage that it couldn't be used, and they brought us a new one that same day. There were cleaning problems with the spa (and a few things indoors) and they came and fixed it ASAP. We needed a trash pick up (trash must all fit in the outside trash can and we cooked our meals at home), and they took care of it. Great response from the management team. In all honesty, this is the best management company I have ever used. Always responsive without being intrusive (call backs, check ins after the work was done, a heads up about times, etc). They are a responsive, guest oriented management team!
Living room furniture and loft bed are a bit uncomfortable, but we muscled through :) Great to have a working washer and dryer, bring your own pots and pans if you are particular about cooking surfaces. Otherwise kitchen was well stocked for the number of people the cabin holds.
The road to the cabin is washing out. We were there during 2 normal GA rains and were fine, but during rainy season I would think twice before staying there. If staying during snowy season, bring extra food because if it snows you definitely can't go anywhere.
We will definitely be back to Boggs mountain, and will continue to rent with Georgia Mountain Rentals!Anonymous from Saint Augustine - Posted: 2/16/2021

We stayed here (7 of us) for three nights and it was amazing. The cabin was beautiful and comfortable and the hot tub was a huge plus. The property managers are very kind and checked in to make sure we got in alright. I definitely recommend this cabin and this management company. The only issue we ran into was running out of garbage space because we cooked every meal - we had to take some garbage home with us.Anonymous from Buford - Posted: 10/6/2020

It was q nice weekend with the family. The space is comfortable and serene. It was not as clean as it should but it wasn’t a big deal, we took care of it. The only reason I would not return to this particular cabin is because of the horrible smell the water had. Just imagine washing your teeth to a rotten smell. Even my 3 yr old was disgusted. If this is fixed we would return because we liked the place!Anonymous from Sandy Springs - Posted: 8/19/2020

I really loved the location of the property and the house itself was gorgeous with a breathtaking view of the forest all around. However, the showers and kitchen water pressure was poor. Also the furnishings are very old. I would not mind if there would have been a dishwasher. Other than those things, I would absolutely come back. The management was responsive. When we arrived the cleaning job was not the best so we requested that the cleaning crew come in the next day to reckless and they did. The check in and check out was very easy. There is a lot to do near by. We did water rafting with southeast expeditions and absolutely loved it. We also drove to see some amazing waterfalls and did zip lining!Anonymous from Hallandale - Posted: 8/11/2019

Beautiful home nestled in the woods. This was a great house near the town of Clayton but still a very private setting. We found it to be very clean and well furnished but we didn't go through everything in the kitchen as we didn't cook. The road in had a small portion which was very rough but I'm sure it is navigable by car with care. Driving a truck or SUV is not required but preferred. Overall very beautiful home in a quiet setting and we'd be happy to come back again.Anonymous - Posted: 7/6/2019

As I drove up the dirt road, I was a little skeptical until the cabin appeared in front of me. It was beautiful, a real oasis in the woods.
We enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi and hearing the sounds of nature and being able to make s'mores in the fire pit. The beautiful spacious cabin made us feel so happy and gave us the opportunity to disconnect from the humdrum of every day life as we had intended.
My questions and troubleshooting the internet were quickly and courteously solved by Randy, a wonderful gentleman. I was super happy and would definitely return.Anonymous from Miami - Posted: 6/2/2019

Nice location.
Event with no curtains its ok because its on a hill.
Dogs will come visit you thoughout the night, but they are good dogs, the kids liked them alot.
Hard to find at first but after you actually go down the road which you would think is not the road, you find it. The road is in really bad shape, dont take a car unless you dont need your oil pan.
Overall a descent cabin, not many channels on the TV but its more to do outside and hiking so you dont need to watch much TV anyway. If this location had a inside hot tub or a larg tub in the bathroom it would be better for us.Anonymous from Milton - Posted: 4/12/2019

The cabin was clean and the property management was very accomodating. The cabin is surrounded by woods so there wasn't much of a view in July. There is very little water pressure and the drive to get to the cabin is gravel and badly washed out. I would recommend arriving in an SUV or truck to access the drive to the cabin. The location is very convenient to Clayton, Dillard and other area attractions. Great cabin if you are looking for something secluded.Anonymous from Tupelo - Posted: 7/8/2018

We had a great time and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I would return again. One piece of information that may/may not be in the listing is that there is a super rocky 1/4 mile dirt road leading to the cabinet. It can be handled by a traditional car but can be nerve-racking if it's raining/dark out. Extra pots and pans would be great when you are cooking large meals (only one skillet/pan).Anonymous from decatur - Posted: 5/29/2018
