The last weekend of October brought chilly weather to the Northeast Georgia Mountains. As usual, we expect it to warm again before real winter sets in, but it is certainly reason to consider soup for dinner. Soup simply warms a body from the inside out!In Helen, Georgia we have an amazing variety of restaurants. I would like to begin by introducing you to their soup menus. The food critic in me will hold off individual restaurant reviews for another time. I begin with Helen's Mexican Restaurant because I had Chili three times this weekend and then moved to my favorite Mexican Chicken Soup on Monday for both lunch & dinner!

Did you notice that Goulash appears on several menus? While I never considered Goulash as a soup, the Germans do consider it as a stew of meat and vegetables, seasoned with paprika and other spices. Originating from the medieval Hungary, goulash is a popular meal predominantly eaten in Central Europe. So, there you have it. From Hungarian Goulash, Mexican and Tex-Mex Chili to French Onion Soup, the menus in Helen are truly international. While staying with Georgia Mountain Rentals, you don't have to decide what's for dinner, simply enjoy a night out on the town with a dinner of soup, stew or chili!
